Our Village Hall Facilities for Parties and Weddings
Available To Hire All Year Around
From a wooden hut in the 1930’s to a more modern brick-built structure in 1976, Antrobus Village Hall has since been extended, with plenty of additional facilities both inside and out. It currently offers 1st class amenities for both the local community and for non-residents who can hire the hall and/or its additional rooms for a variety of celebratory, business and public events, and at any time of year.

A scale floor-plan of the hall may also be viewed by clicking here (opens in a new window).
Main Hall
It can also seat up to 200 people when configured for a “theatre-style” business presentation, lecture, demonstration or theatrical/musical event.
Tables and Chairs
Use of our tables and chairs is included in the cost of the hall hire:
- Our range of tables includes 6ft. trestle style (for business meetings, “top table” etc.), rectangular tables that will accommodate about 6 people and small “card tables” which seat about 4. The rectangular tables can also be easily converted into round-top tables which seat up to 8 (although seating 6 is probably a little more comfortable) and these are very popular for special occasions such as a Wedding Anniversary party
- Tablecloths can be rented directly from us for a small cost
- Our chairs are very comfortable and are upholstered in green, complimenting the green and cream curtains; of course it’s possible to hire chair covers for extra special occasions – our “links” page contains info on a local supplier.
The hall has a solid wooden floor made from Murbau and it is the original sprung floor that was put down in 1976. There is also variable lighting, zoned central heating and plenty of power-points.
Antrobus residents take advantage of the hall’s amenities and stage every year, with the annual village Panto, among other events.
It’s a perfect environment for a concert, theatre production etc. with plenty of room and chairs for guests.
A huge attraction is the Main Hall’s own access to our paved patio area at the rear which proves very popular. Guests can spill out onto this area to dance, chat and have a drink plus it’s an ideal place to additionally erect a marquee for larger affairs such as Fund Raisers, Weddings, Exhibitions, Company Christmas Parties etc.
There is a very attractive mural on one wall of the hall painted from an aerial photograph of Antrobus taken at the Millennium. The small pictures show the activities going on in the village at that time. To view a larger image of the Mural, just click on the image.
We hire out our Village Hall for a range of different activities and functions such as discos, fashion shows, seminars etc. and we’ll be able to let you pick up the key in plenty of time to set up the hall as you wish – for example to put flowers on tables, bring/cover your own chairs, put out the Wedding Cake etc!
Don’t forget we have a list of suggested suppliers on our “links” page, covering services such as catering, chair covers, party activities etc which may help give you inspiration when considering hiring our hall for your special occasion.
The Bar
Our booking form gives details of who to additionally contact to ensure we keep the bar available for your Main Hall event.
It has a full alcohol and entertainment license and offers a wide range of beers, spirits, wines and soft drinks etc.
The Lounge
Added when the facilities were extended and with dimensions of 14.5 metres by 12.5 metres, our highly comfortable and versatile lounge annex is a popular addition to our facilities, easily accessed from the Main Hall. Attached to the bar area, the lounge can be hired along with the bar or of course on its own, in which case the bar is completely screened off and unnoticeable.
When hired separately – for instance for a business meeting – the lounge can be accessed by its own entrance at the rear car park and has its own toilets available. It also has its own small kitchen area, suitable only for preparing drinks, as the consumption of food is not generally allowed in the lounge.
Furnished with comfortable leather sofas, chairs and large wooden coffee tables, the lounge is a great addition when renting the Main Hall. It can act as a peaceful area for sitting, relaxing, chatting and just having a quiet drink from the Bar, when the Main Hall is being used for a party; or it can be a “break-out” room when the Main Hall is rented as a business conference facility for the day.
The Small Multi-Use Room
Like the lounge, the Small Room can be hired independently from the rest of the Village Hall facilities or in combination with the Main Hall for larger events. It has dimensions of 9 metres by 5.6 metres and is situated at the opposite end of the building from the Main Hall with doors opening out onto the paved patio area & field.
Suitable for meetings of up to 20 people, the Small Room is furnished with upholstered dining style chairs and small round tables. Additional furniture can be provided if required.
A marquee fits very comfortably into the available space at the rear of the hall & the kitchen/small room exits make it ideal for caterers to serve the guests.
(The photo to the left shows the rear of the building with the doors from the small room being those on the left hand side of the image.)
The Kitchen
As part of the extension to the existing Antrobus Village Hall facilities, a modern, fully fitted kitchen was added. The kitchen is very well equipped with a large electric cooker (pans not included), commercial dishwasher, plumbed in water heater for hot drinks, plate warmer, large refrigerator all in stainless steel.
With crockery and cutlery also available for hire, the kitchen adds a new dimension to private and corporate events at our Village Hall.
It’s your choice whether to hire caterers or cook for your own event. On our links page we note a few local caterers whose expertise & service we are familiar with. Food can be cooked here or delivered and served hot or cold to guests both in the Main Hall and out on the paved area.
Outside Amenities
The ability to extend weddings, exhibitions, fund-raisers etc. onto the paved patio area, to the rear of the building (with access into the Main Hall, Small Room and Kitchen) is a huge bonus and works very well. In the warmer months, use of the adjoining field is popular for a variety of local village functions.
