It’s Almost Panto Time at the Antrobus Village Hall!

Village Hall Panto, Jan2016

The multi-award winning Antrobus Players will be performing the family pantomime Mother Goose.

A fabulous tale of a poor family, whose pet goose, Pricilla, magically starts laying golden eggs. The local gentry want this wealth for themselves and send the bailiffs in pursuit of the goose! Lots of frolics, dance and singing, there’s a baddie and a goodie of course and plenty of audience participation.

Without giving the game away there’s bound to be a happy ending to keep everyone smiling.

Mother Goose Panto
Cast members come from Antrobus and surrounding villages in the Northwich, Warrington & Lymm area. It’s a true community event involving all ages from 8 to 88 with proceeds supporting Local Leukaemia Research and Village Facilities.

The Family Pantomime is suitable for all ages and Antrobus Village Hall will be transformed into a Theatre on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 27, 28 and 29 January. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 pm and the Sunday is a matinee at 2:30 pm.

Tickets are £5 for children, £9.00 for adults or £25 for a family of four.

A makeover for Antrobus Village Hall!

New Toilets

Throughout August 2015 we had a bit of a makeover at the village hall.

Firstly, we have done our bit for the environment and saving future costs by having Solar Panels fitted.

We ripped out the old gents & ladies toilets and did a major refurbishment – the result is the installation of some lovely toilets, lit mirrors and blow hand dryers with fabulous tiled floors too.

Antrobus Village Hall - repainted front

For the disabled toilets we have laid a new floor and painted the walls and door.

At the same time we painted the interior and exterior walls, woodwork and doors – doesn’t the front entrance look smashing?

We have also updated the bar work area with new work surfaces, sink and shelving; it looks fabulous now – why not come along and see for yourself?

We have our Christmas Market scheduled for Saturday 5 Dec 2015!

As usual Father Christmas will be there with his helpers.

Christmas market

We’ll have over 25 stalls selling super gifts, crafts, foods, local produce (such as Jams, Chutney, Homemade Cakes, Christmas Cakes, Mince Pies, Sausages & Cheese) and Christmas goods – as well as other stalls selling jewellery, books soft furnishings etc. that will inspire your Christmas present shopping!

There’s always plenty for the children to do (including Santa’s grotto) and it’ll be a wonderful day out for all the family, with a licenced bar, all day Bistro serving home-made lunch and afternoon tea and much more – all for a FREE Entry!

Antrobus rain

SUNDAY 5th August

Flash Floods Take their Toll

As villagers pulled together to help out, the Village Shop & Post Office was badly affected by the rain on Sunday 5th August. In fact the damage was so immense everyone thought the shop would have to close for some time.

But what a fabulous place we live in… thanks must go to Noel Gallagher for his quick actions, when he notified villagers and worked tirelessly to help ease the situation!

Also a huge Thank You to all the other people that came to help with the messy task of making the village a safe place and also cleaning out the shop and Post Office. Because of our wonderful Antrobus Army the shop is once again open for business!!!
AND the Village Hall did open in time for the evening’s Jivetastic Event.

The whole Village Hall is decorated to create a “Real Theatre” feel; there is excellent lighting and a sound system to match! There’ll even be an “Ice Cream Lady” in the interval!

Villagers and friends of the village aged 8 to 70+ are taking part this year; to make this a Panto you’ll be talking about for a very long time and ensuring fun for all the family!

In the interval, wine, soft drinks, tea & coffee will be available. Plus Great Budworth Real Dairy Ice Cream Farm is supplying us with fantastic, traditional ice cream tubs, made especially for our Panto.

Tickets really are selling fast so to avoid disappointment
